children, beginners, singles, and
couples, with live music and callers
from near and far.  
Bi-monthly Saturday Night Dances
8-11 pm.
Folk School Concerts are open to the
public. They are scheduled for most
(but not all) Friday evenings at 7:30
pm. The public is welcome to enjoy a
public display of Folk School student
crafts from 6:40-7:00 pm in the Keith
House Community Room, where the
concerts are held. Free Admission
A Walk Back in Time..at the Old Jail
Tuesday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm
Built in 1912 to hold criminals, this
two-story brick building now houses
the county's historical treasures.
A display of feed sacks and how these
cloth bags were used, a moonshine
exhibit, quilts made by Cherokee
women, the first telephone company's
switchboard, a saddle used by Captain
William P. Moore (one of the county's
Confederate veterans) and new
exhibits featuring black bears.

Annual Possum Drop
New Years Eve Lowering of the Opossum
- Brasstown's answer to New York City's
crystal ball or the Atlanta's peach.
A fun-filled evening with wholesome clean
activities for the entire family. The Little
Brasstown Church leads the crowd in
singing old-time gospel songs, there is
good quality bluegrass music provided by
bands such as the Barker Brothers
Bluegrass Band.
This is a non-alcoholic family event
